Acroterion detailing of a woman on a school building in Cheltenham.

When I first built my website and what have now become my business social accounts around three years ago, I built them to blog about home interior design, cooking, being a parent and the baby products I find helpful, skincare, places I’ve enjoyed visiting and even illustration. Then my maternity leave came to an end and I realised I didn’t want to send my daughter to nursery, I wanted to raise her myself and find a way to work flexibly. That’s how Cotswolds Content came about and I haven’t looked back. I transformed my social accounts to be a little more business focussed and I completely turned this website around to talk about marketing and the digital services I offer. I love that I get to work with businesses to create photography that reflects their unique branding, social media plans that bring in new customers and create websites that are functional and easy to use.

It was because I was able to create a business that generated income that I then became too scared to post anything personal and lifestyle oriented on my website. I didn’t want my blog to become confusing for new visitors hoping to enquire about my digital offering but then I realised, that’s not how I think when I look at other people’s blogs. I thought about the content creators who share multiple facets of their life on their platforms and recognised that these are the accounts I engage with the most and consume the most content on. Usually it’s the people who only show the services they offer that I tend to engage with the least so I’ll be switching it up on here a little!

I’ll continue to talk about what I do at Cotswolds Content and my approach to helping small businesses but I’ll also go back to sharing more of my personal life! It would be great if I could create a little community on here of parents working for themselves having created their own business like me! If there’s any topics you’d particularly like me to talk about, feel free to pop me a message. I’m constantly reading parent blogs on the best things to buy for little ones so I’d love to be able to do the same on here alongside my work posts. I hope you’ll enjoy reading a bit more from me. I’ll be back again shortly with a listicle of all the things I wish I knew about when I became a mum. Speak soon!
