I talk about my social media management style when I first speak with new clients but I realised I haven’t actually shared this online. Having seen other social media management accounts post about this on Instagram recently, I realised my approach is actually quite different…
Starting with how my service differs, I’m not reliant on sole input from the business owners I work with (as I appreciate you’re busy, which is why you’ve hired me) and I often do a lot of background work for you so I can keep your social accounts running smoothly and performing well so you can focus on what you do best. How do I do this? I monitor and work on the following:

- What events are going on in your local area that I can share and make your social media accounts a place where viewers can get a sense of what it’s like to visit your location and what else they can do when they’ve bought your service. This increases the likelihood that people will visit you from afar (because for best results you need this in addition to local customers) as they’ll know they can make a day or weekend of it.
- Building a sense of comradery between neighbouring (non competitor) businesses so we all plug each other (for free) and bring each other customers.
- Researching events that you’re taking part of so you don’t need to take the time out providing me information.
- I often do phone photography, videography and professional photography shoots for my clients so I have a wealth of media to work with. I pride myself on being creative so I’m also very comfortable recycling the existing photography my clients have and this is something I will go away and create content from for you, without constantly hassling you for new media.
- Most of my clients don’t actually want stats, regular meetings or the extra burden of having to check content plans before they go out. They want someone to completely manage their social media accounts for them and to trust their social media manager understands their business model and the public image they want to put out. I am more than happy to oblige and prove my worth with sales conversions and reach instead. That being said, for more corporate clients I understand the need for monthly reviews and SMART targets and I can easily provide this.
I have ten years digital marketing experience and if I know that a client request is against best practice then I will push back and provide you with an alternative approach instead. I won’t ever post something I can see an issue with to protect my clients and my own reputation so you can trust that I will always be honest and that my social media management style is methodical.
My first step is often a clean up of your social accounts and then working out what your best customers want to see from you. Using this approach I have been able to turn social media accounts into a place where celebrities willingly follow organically and influencers actively want to get involved with. If you’re a small business with a restrained budget, having a carefully curated social media account that looks attractive and provides engaging content is often enough. You may not even need paid adverts (and often don’t in my experience working for my clients).
Lastly, I have helped a lot of my clients avoid cyber threats. I was lucky enough to receive training from my previous corporate roles and have helped prevent phishing attacks on my clients’ businesses. I am also on hand to answer customer enquiries and I do this for my clients at most hours of the day, again, without needing to get my clients involved until they are ready to the next working day.
I hope this gives you a little insight into what it’s like to work with me at Cotswolds Content! As always, ping me a message if you’d like to know more or if you’d like to book a call if you’d like my assistance.
